Sweden Prosecutor Drops Rape Investigation Against Wikileaks Founder

Sweden’s top prosecutor is dropping a seven-year investigation into a rape claim against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Friday’s announcement means Assange is no longer under any investigation in Sweden, however British police say he is still wanted in Britain for jumping bail.

Police in the United Kingdom say he will be arrested if he leaves the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

Assange has been there since 2012 after two women accused him of sex crimes, fearing he’ll be arrested and extradited back to the United States.

If extradited, he faces charges related to WikiLeaks’s publications of classified American documents.
