Former FBI Director James Comey to Testify Before Senate

Former FBI Director James Comey has agreed to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Senator Richard Burr, chairman of the committee announced his decision Friday evening.

He will testify in an open session sometime after Memorial Day, but the hearing date has not been set yet.

Burr says the committee wants to hear from Comey on his role in the development of the U.S. intelligence agencies’ assessment of the Russian interference in the U.S. election.

He says he hopes Comey’s testimony will answer some of the questions that have come up after President Trump fired him last week.
