Charlevoix Country Club to Open for Season After Fire

A Charlevoix County golf course that didn’t plan to open this season after a fire now has plans for golfers to hit the fairway.

Charlevoix Country Club’s clubhouse caught fire almost a year ago.

When the clubhouse determined they couldn’t get repairs done in time for the season, they decided it was best not to open this year.

After discussions with A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort in Kewadin, they will now manage the course.

They plan to open the fitness center, golf course and a snack shack for this season.

The pro shop will go in the undamaged part of the clubhouse.

"Kind of tragic and, you know, especially for the community and the people who live around here for us to be able to come in and manage it and get it open for this year, I think its going to be great for all parties involved," A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort owner Mike Brown said.

The managers hope to have everything open by Memorial Weekend.
