Morley American Legion Post Helps Build Wheelchair Ramp For Local Veteran

A Northern Michigan American Legion post came together to help a veteran in need.

Veteran Justin Flowers was in need of a new ramp outside his home.

Flowers was a combat engineer in the United States Army.

When the Knox Helms American Legion Post in Morley heard there was a need, they donated $1,000 to the cause.

Volunteers then came out on Sunday to build the ramp.

“There’s people in this community that do care for vets and they’re here for you when you need it you know,” says veteran, Justin Flowers. “Now this is going to be an advantage you know. We’re going to be right where the vehicles going to be parking. It’s going to be an advantage for me.  They put a plan together, executed and mission accomplished.”

Donations were also made by Radle Construction and Big L Lumber.

Work still needs to be done to make access to vehicles and the driveway easier for Flowers.
