MTM On The Road: Sayklly’s Candies and Chocolates in Escanaba

All week long we’re touring the Upper Peninsula with stops at gorgeous landmarks, iconic businesses and old U.P. traditions. Today we kick off our 5-day excursion at in Escanaba. The family business started in 1906 when a young Lebanese immigrant named Joseph Sayklly opened shop on Escanaba’s Ludington Street. What started as a general store with homemade sweets slowly transitioned into a full-fledged sweet shop, today still made with the same old fashioned recipes and ingredients from one hundred years ago. Join us for this special edition of On The Road as we cross the Mighty Mac and become honorary Yoopers!
