All-Star Junior Golf Teams Compete At Bay Meadows

A pair of northern Michigan junior golf teams hit the links in Traverse City for the start of the PGA Junior League’s All-star tournament on Wednesday.

Throughout the year junior league golfers have played against each other, narrowing down the young participants to Wednesday’s all-star team.

Players from Treetops Resort and Spa in Gaylord drove to Bay Meadows in Traverse City for a match between both PGA Junior teams.

"What’s cool about this is these kids, anywhere between ages nine and 13, they’re going to start seeing these kids so they’re going to have the chance today to potentially build a relationship that’s going to last all the way through their high school career," Kevin McKinley, director of golf at Treetops Resort, said.

Bay Meadows won Wednesday’s tournament 11.5 to 1.5 and now moves on to play the Saginaw junior team.
