Michigan Republican Party Meeting in Lansing For State Convention

The Michigan Republican Party is holding their state convention Friday.

It’s expected to be their most important convention in years.

Friday, Republican lawmakers are meeting in Lansing to find out who is going the party’s National Convention in Cleveland later this year.

Donald Trump won Michigan’s primary back in February and is leading the party with 743 delegates, with Cruz trailing with 517.

The party’s National Convention is on track to be brokered without either candidate getting the 1,237 delegates needed to claim the party’s nomination.

There are still 16 primaries left until the GOP National Convention.
