Baldwin Community Schools Discuss Becoming Year Round School

One Northern Michigan school could soon be a year round school – a system they say could balance out the school year.

Baldwin Community Schools held a meeting to look at the possibility of becoming a year round school, and discuss what that means.

Students would still attend the same amount of days of school, but instead of a 12-week summer, they would have a 6-week summer, with extended Fall breaks, Spring breaks, and holiday breaks.

The school is applying for a grant that would help them retrofit their school buildings to accommodate year round schooling.

If they are approved, they hope to implement this model next Fall.
