UPDATE: Victims Identified in Deadly M-32 Accident
Two people dead after an accident between a car and semi in Otsego County, splitting the car in two.
The accident happened just after noon on Wednesday on M-32 near Gaylord. That meant closing down M-32 between McCoy and Gingill roads for nearly seven hours.
Troopers say the car was eastbound when the driver lost control on the icy road, crossed the centerline and crashed head on into a semi truck. The truck driver from Tandem Transport was not hurt.
Mary Green and Christopher Jay, both of Petoskey, were in the car and died in the crash.
This accident has state police reminding drivers to be very careful when the roads are this slippery.
A Michigan State Police reconstructionist was called in to figure out what exactly happened.
9&10's Katie Boomgaard and photojournalist Jeff Blevins talked to crews on the scene about the situation and have more details.
