Mecosta Co. Community Trying to Move Forward After Standoff
People living in the Rogers Heights area of Mecosta County are shocked something like this would happen so close to home.
Police continued their investigation throughout the day blocking off the road. Neighbors say they knew that the suspect had a criminal past.
The uncle of a woman held hostage waited for hours before he knew his niece and her baby were alive.
“You just don't know. I mean I didn't know until maybe after five o'clock that actually [she] was okay…we really didn't know what was happening with people in there,” said Jeff Nelson, uncle of one of the victims.
People who live in the area say they are trying to find a way to move on after experiencing such a shocking act of violence in their community.
