Fire Danger Rating High to Very High In Northern Michigan


Fire danger is once again rising across Northern Michigan.
The lack of rain coupled with high temperatures means fire danger is at high to very high levels across our area.
A number of small brush fires have already broken out around Grayling and Cadillac.
No burn permits are being given out right now.
Fire crews are urging people to keep the weather in mind when starting a fire, because conditions are perfect for a wildfire.
The National Forest Service says there are a number of things you can do to prevent the spread of a fire, including keeping your roof clean of debris, and storing firewood away from any buildings.
