Local Fed-Ex Service Looking to Send Some Holiday Cheer to Troops

A special holiday tradition is at it again this year around Northern Michigan.

Trees for Troops, in partnership with Fed-Ex, is a service that sends Christmas trees to troops in uniform.

Since 2005, more than $100,000 trees have been donated, including a planned 18,000 this year all across the country.

In Michigan, 6 different tree farms plan to send out between 3,000 and 6,000 trees and they are very thankful they get the chance to do so.

Dutchman, as well as all other farms in the area, are willing to take donations from any tree farm.

In addition, a $5 donation to Trees for Troops buys a card and also helps support the planning that goes into this giving process.
