Charlevoix County Sheriff Gets Hit By Another Car

The Charlevoix County Sheriff didn't skip a beat after a pick-up truck t-boned him in his patrol car.

Sheriff Don Schneider says he's sore, but went back to work after the accident around 8:30 this morning.

The Sheriff was heading north on M-66 in Charlevoix, when a pick-up truck tried to cross 66 at Castle View Drive.

The truck drove right into the Sheriff's patrol car.

Though the driver of the pick-up did stop at a stop sign, the State Police gave him a ticket for failing to yield at an intersection.

The Sheriff calls it a “freak accident.”
