Environmentalists Speak Out During Cherryland Electric Annual Meeting

Wolverine Power Cooperative's plans for a new coal plant in Northern Michigan may have stalled; But that's not stopping environmentalists from speaking out tonight. Governor Granholm recently denied the Air Quality Permit to build a power plant in Rogers City. But Cherryland Electric Cooperative, part owners of Wolverine Power, say they're considering appealing that decision. The Co-op held their annual meeting tonight and had some environmental members voting for new leadership. Cherryland Electric Cooperative is still within the 90 appeal period and says they will make a decision whether to appeal within the next month and a half.
