Cherry Growers Expect Early Harvest
Local cherry growers saw early blooms and if the warm weather keeps up, they'll have early cherries. Some farmers say they'll be able to harvest cherries at least three weeks earlier than usual this year. The very warm spring helped speed up the crop. Even after a frost that damaged some farmers' crops, both farmers we spoke with today believe local sweet cherries will be ready and waiting for those planning to attend this year's Cherry Festival.
