Landowners hoping to make some extra cash by selling the rights to drill for oil or gas need to first take a trip to the County Clerk. Several companies are interested in drilling sites in Missaukee County. Exploratory drilling on private lands could bring unexpected money to landowners. Now, requests for copies of deeds are flooding into area County Clerks offices, making them busier than they have been in years.
