Taking a rest at one Northern Michigan rest stop has never been so green. After months of construction, this new rest stop, on I-75 south near Grayling opened on Friday for the Memorial Day weekend. MDOT says the building has geo-thermal heating and plenty of windows for natural sunlight. The bathrooms are also complete with low flow tanks and waterless urinals. MDOT says they also left as many tree's as they could when building the rest stop. MDOT says this is the first rest stop building in the state to use all interior and exterior LED lighting.
