UPDATE: Traverse City Officer Sentenced
Traverse City Police Officer Joseph Soffredine was back in the court room this morning to enter a plea and find out his punishment after crashing his car back in February. Soffredine plead guilty to impaired driving. He will be on probation for six months and will have to take alcohol tests. Soffredine will also have to serve four days of community service. Two Grand Traverse County Deputies, Mark Noffke and Robert Sillers, did not give Soffredine a field sobriety test after the crash. They were both fired from their positions. Witnesses say Soffredine was visibly drunk that night. Northern Michigan's News Leader was in the courtroom for the sentencing today and is working to bring you continuing coverage.
