Closed for a few hours, crews have now re-opened US-31 from Betsy River Road to Lake Ann Road after a four-car accident. Three people were sent to the hospital, one with very serious injuries. Police tell 9&10 News a car was trying to turn left when a car that was slowing down behind it was rear-ended and pushed into on coming traffic. A 15-year-old driver in a stolen car led police on a chase that took an ugly turn Thursday morning. The boy lost control of the car around a sharp curve. The car flew a couple hundred feet off the road and into the woods. The chase started after deputies spotted the car that was reported stolen just hours earlier. It ended with a crash at Wemple and Five Mile Roads. The car was going so fast it broke through a fence, crashed through trees, and flew uphill the into the woods. A new bill is on its way to the Senate that will allow Michigan businesses to sell higher-grade, more powerful fireworks. The bill could help raise more than 5 million dollars for the State a year. But not everyone is booming with excitement. The co-owner of Great Lakes Fireworks say the industry supports the idea of selling higher-grade fireworks in Michigan, but the additional fees could ignite some big problems.
