Bond Proposal Rejected Despite Much Needed School Building Repairs
A Cheboygan County School District is still in shock after hearing the results of a bond proposal to help pay for repairs to one of their school buildings. On Tuesday, voters in Indian River rejected a 1.5 million dollar bond proposal for the Inland Lakes School District. The Superintendent says on top of cutting staff and programs to try and balance the budget, they will now have to throw building repair costs into the mix. The Superintendent says the school board will meet with the building inspector on Monday to go over the essential repairs and try to come up with the funding. Chivon Kloepfer and Photo Journalist Michael Bulthuis visited the school today and have more details in this report.
