Mounted Police Officers Train in Northern Michigan

Mounted police officers from across the state are saddling up this weekend in northern Michigan. The 5th Annual West Shore Mounted Academy is going on all weekend in Lake Ann. More than 50 mounted units are there training on anything for search and rescue missions to crowd control. “I have a reputation to try to be as real as possible,” says Lorenzo Veal II, the academy's trainer. “I try to get that adrenaline spike out of everyone.” The annual training gives all the mounted officers a chance to work together and learn from each other. 9&10's Ryan Raiche and Photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have more on the training.
