UPDATE: Fire Marshall Will Investigate Cause of Home Fire in Mason County

Despite a quick call from neighbors, fire leveled a home in Mason County. It started as a grass fire, but soon took over the house, a garage and a shed out back. The fire started just south of Scottville around seven last night. No one was home at the time, but four dogs were inside– all four made it out safely. The fire chief says strong winds caused the flames to spread from the garage to the house in just a few minutes. The fire marshal will be on scene today to try and figure out what caused it.
