Emergency Crews Practice Response with Pretend Tornado Disaster
A tornado tore through several schools Wednesday morning in Leelanau County — at least that's what first responders were told. It was all part of an annual drill to get emergency responders ready for the real-thing. The exercise took place Wednesday in all of Leelanau County. Part of the goal of the drill is to get people comfortable handling major disasters from the Emergency Operations Center, also known as the EOC. First responders also got some practice in handling make-believe victims with some very real-looking wounds. 9&10's Ryan Raiche and Photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have the story.
