Large Turn Out For TC Tea Party Rally
A national movement rallied in northern Michigan today and hundreds of people came out to fight for the cause. The National Tea Party Movement focuses on less government involvement, and more specifically less spending. The “Tea Party Express” is making a cross-country tour, and right now it's headed through Michigan. The national group recently shifted its focus to Congressman Bart Stupak, protesting his controversial yes vote on health care reform. The group launched a major campaign, calling for his resignation. And to the surprise of many, Congressman Stupak announced on Friday he would not seek re-election. He says his decision to retire was not influenced by the tea party movement, but since the announcement some are calling Saturday's Tea Party rally more of a victory rally. 9&10's Ryan Raiche and Photojournalist Michael Bulthuis were at the rally and have the story.
