Parvovirus Hits Mid Michigan Shelter for Third Time
A central Michigan animal shelter is forced to close their kennel because of an outbreak of a potentially deadly virus. The Isabella County Animal Shelter in Mt. Pleasant is in the midst of their third outbreak of canine parvovirus. Six puppies were affected this round, and one is still sick at the vet. The shelter says their kennel should be back open Monday. They're confident all the dogs will fight the virus and come back healthy. 9&10's Cali O'Rourke and photojournalist Joel Deaner visited the shelter to see how they're handling the virus.
