One Fire Destroys Two Homes, Families Move On
Two families are feeling the burn after one fire tore through their community. Those families lost almost everything, and today they're trying to move on. The fire started Tuesday night in Mesick in Wexford County. After sifting through the mess, the Fire Chief thinks a dryer is the cause of all the chaos. The Red Cross responded immediately and will continue to help out for the next few days. Several benefits are also in the works to help out the two families. The first will take place at the Bob Evans in Cadillac on Friday. The community is asked to donate “literally anything” at a drop-off point there from 2-4 pm. Another benefit will take place the evening of April 18th in Mesick, most likely at the Ellen's Corner gas station. 9&10's Alex Jokich and photojournalist Stephanie Adkins were at the site of Tuesday's fire and have more details.
