Police Arrest Grayling City Manager

Police say they arrested Grayling's city manager for improperly handling private information. The Crawford County Sheriff's Department made the arrest this morning at the city offices in Grayling. Police say David Thayer mishandled paperwork with 24 different social security numbers on it. Thayer faces 24 counts of violating the state's social security number privacy act. Sheriff Kirk Wakefield says he's taking the incident very seriously because of the risk for identity theft. City attorney, Gerry Brabant says the incident was an accident. David Thayer will go before a judge on February 24th. Erika Waddell and photojournalist Justin DePrekel have the story.
