Michigan Reps Join Voices with Concerned Residents about Asian Carp

Dozens of people gathered this morning on the banks of the Boardman river in Traverse City to make their voices heard, hopefully all the way to the Windy City. Their goal is to stop Asian carp from reaching the Great Lakes. State representatives say the campaign is crucial to the survival of an economy that depends on the Great Lakes. They teamed up to try and change the minds of Chicago politicians who refuse to close two shipping locks that would stop the invasive fish from reaching Lake Michigan–a result that might soon be reality.
