Toyota dealers in Northern Michigan say it's a quick fix to deal with the faulty accelerator pedal recall. The recall affects eight of Toyota's top models, dating back to 2005. Traverse Motors in Traverse City just received the replacement parts yesterday. They started by fixing any affected vehicles on their lot and are now working on customer cars. They say it only takes about 15 minutes per car. The remedy is a small reinforcement bar that closes a gap between a cushion and a plate in the base of the pedal. Dealers encourage drivers to call or come in to get their cars checked out. Erika Waddell and photojournalist Justin DePrekel have the story.
