$125,000 Grant to Make County More Energy Efficient

One Northern Michigan county is looking at ways to save energy, and now they have the money to back it up. The Alliance for Economic Success in Manistee County just received a $125,000 grant to help fund their energy efficiency projects. They say they will use this money in two major ways. Part of the money will go to performing energy audits on public buildings. They say this will help the county save energy and money. The rest of the money will fund a county-wide recycling initiative. Six of Manistee County's 14 townships have already signed on to the program. The Recycling Coordinator says this is good for the local economy and for the earth.
