Raw Sewage Leak Continues in East Jordan

City officials in East Jordan suspect around 30,000 gallons of raw sewage leaked from an old gasket over the past week. The leak is near the south side of M-32, near the Industrial Park entrance. Road crews noticed the leak yesterday when it started bubbling up to the surface of the road. The city plans to fix the problem tomorrow, Thursday, morning. Health officials say there is no immediate health threat, but are discouraging anyone from coming into contact with any water in that area. They will monitor water wells nearby to be sure they're safe. 9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Aaron Smith have more details on the leak.
