Preview of Monday’s Brainstorming Forum, “Traverse City Tomorrow”

What do you want Traverse City to be? That's the burning question on the minds of city leaders Monday night during the event, “Traverse City Tomorrow.” The idea is to help the city figure out how it can help build the future the people hope for. “I think sometimes government has an opportunity to help create good things and other times government tends to get in the way of good things being created,” says Ben Bifoss, City Manager. The city invited a wide variety of panelists to get a range of ideas. The following are expected to speak during Monday's event: – Derek Bailey, Chairman of Grand Traverse Band – Don Coe, Managing Partner of Black Star Farms – Michael Moore, Filmmaker & Founder of TC Film Festival – Tim Nelson, President of Northwestern Michigan College – Ed Ness, President & CEO of Munson Medical Center – Marsha Smith, Executive Dir. of Rotary Charities The event runs from 7-9pm at the City Opera House in Traverse City. The public is welcome. 9&10's Ryan Raiche and Photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have a preview.
