Ice Concerns at the Neebish Island Ferry

Ice concerns are forcing both US and Canadian Coast Guard Cutters to help the ferry make limited supply runs to people living on Neebish Island. This isn't anything new, but it is definitely early in the season. It typically happens in late March when the ice is breaking up. Most island residents are aware of the risk, but say it is just a part on living on the island. The ferry was able to make several runs to the island today. But the ice could close in at anytime, so there's really no guarantee it will be able to continue to do so.
