As Weather Warms Up, DNR Reminds Ice Fishers to Stay Safe

As the weather starts to warm up, the DNR wants to remind people to be safe on the ice. Even just a couple of consecutive days of warm weather can make a big different on ice conditions. Owners at Lyman's On the Lake say be sure to look for dark spots in the ice, because that could mean standing water or weak ice. And its always a good idea to check with the locals if you're unfamiliar with the area. The owner says just use caution and always make sure you have proper safety devices with you, and fish with a friend just in case something happens.
