Olympian Snowboarders Train in Northern Michigan
They're some of the best snow boarders in the world and they'll be practicing right here in Northern Michigan. Seven national Olympic snow board teams will be at the Otsego Club in Gaylord training for the Winter Olympics. They'll be training on a 22-foot tall half pipe the resort created just for this event. The Japanese team just got into town Friday and didn't waste any time. Six other teams from around the globe will be here soon. “It's a great honor for Gaylord, for the state, for the Michigan snow industry completely, it's just a fantastic honor to have all these teams coming here before they're going to the world event,” Kris Klay, Otsego Club general manager, said. By mid-February these teams will be in Vancouver, Canada putting their skills to the test at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
