A survey by the National Ski Areas Association says the use of helmets by skiers and snowboarders increased by 12 percent over the 2007-2008 skiing season. They consider that a big jump in use. Locally, The Crystal Mountain Ski Resort in Thompsonville says they are seeing numbers that reflect that trend.
